A grand start to Koshien 2025 as 32 teams parade through the stadium.

The 97th Spring Koshien High School Baseball Tournament was nothing short of spectacular. A testament to Japan’s deep-rooted love for baseball, this year’s tournament brought together 32 of the best high school teams, drawing thousands of passionate fans to Hanshin Koshien Stadium. The event blended  tradition, sportsmanship, and an electrifying atmosphere , creating unforgettable moments for players and spectators alike.

From the grand opening ceremony, where a music band led the participating schools in a celebratory parade, to the final moments of the night game under heavy rain, Koshien once again proved why it holds a special place in the hearts of baseball lovers. The stadium was lively from the start, with three-fourths of the seats filled by dedicated fans, mostly young people and older men, eager to witness the next generation of baseball stars.

The festival-like atmosphere extended beyond the games, as attendees enjoyed  classic stadium food like chicken sticks, curry rice, sausages, and French fries, paired with  ice-cold beer served by roaming vendors. These details, small yet significant, contributed to the authentic Koshien experience, where every element – from the smell of fresh food to the cheers echoing across the stadium – played a role in making the event memorable On March 18, 2025.
